DECONSTRUCTING DOMESTIC DECORUM
THE HETEROPATRIARCHAL SOUTH AFRICAN INDIAN MUSLIM DOLL HOUSE
It’s a spatial translation of the research, i.e. an institutional space where the research is “taught”, experienced and observed. It can be a miniature model, a rotational set piece, or a 1:1 exhibition space.
The dollhouse adapts, to the kind of labour performed in a specific room. The walls move, to expand and contract space, they unfold into pieces of furniture and secret doors.
